What this mod does
Realistic COG and Reefer Mod is a free mod by Ventyres that changes the center of gravity (COG) of SCS trucks and trailers, including DLC ones, so they behave more like the real thing.
What changes when you drive
- Without a semi-trailer, the weight is concentrated at the front of the truck.
- With a full semi-trailer, the rear is the heaviest part and the rig sits more firmly in corners.
Refrigerated trailers
- Company reefers give off the sound of a real refrigeration unit.
- Reefers you buy have two states, refrigeration unit on or off, which you switch during play from the trailer menu (F7). The state determines which cargo you can accept.
- The unit’s sound, made by Kriechbaum, starts when you start the engine.
Installation and compatibility
It’s a single .scs file that must go above any truck or trailer mods in the manager. Version 2.1/2.2 works on ETS2 1.57 to 1.61. If you use other mods that also touch vehicle weight or physics, experiment with the load order, because the page doesn’t detail compatibility.

Requirements
- Euro Truck Simulator 2 between 1.57 and 1.61
- A Gumroad account or a 0 € order to download it
How to install it
- Go to the mod's official Gumroad page, enter 0 € (or whatever you'd like to contribute) and download it.
- Copy the .scs file into Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/mod.
- Open the Mod Manager and enable the mod.
- Move it above any truck or trailer mods, as the author asks.
- With a reefer of your own, use the trailer menu (F7) to turn the refrigeration unit on or off.
Common problems
Is it free?
Yes. Gumroad lets you pay what you want, but the minimum price is 0 €.
Does it affect trucks from other modders?
The author describes it for SCS trucks and trailers, including DLC ones.
Why can't I load refrigerated cargo?
Check with F7 that your reefer has its refrigeration unit on: the state decides which cargo it accepts.
