What this mod does
Realistic Crop Rotation by Squallqt makes crop rotation really matter. Each field remembers its last four seasons (crop or fallow), and growing the same thing year after year eventually takes its toll through disease.
Planning
- A 2-, 3- or 4-year rotation calendar, with planned fallow.
- A rotation quality score, tips and warnings before you sow.
- It rewards diversity: more different crops, avoiding repeated crop families and alternating fall and spring sowing.
Diseases and treatments
There are nine diseases (sclerotinia, phoma, take-all, septoria, rust, fusarium, downy mildew, beet cyst nematode and clubroot) that progress daily and show up on the map when they damage the crop. A fungicide and a nematicide reduce the risk, but against take-all and clubroot only rotation helps.
Nitrogen and tools
Legumes worked into the soil give back nitrogen (alfalfa: 80 and 50 kg/ha for the next two crops). It works with or without Precision Farming, in single player and multiplayer, and adds a menu tab, three map views and a field info panel. Version 1.1 adds buckwheat, peanuts, sesame and mint and improves performance on large maps.

How to install it
- Download it from the official ModHub (link on this page) or search for "Realistic Crop Rotation" in the in-game Mods menu on PC/Mac.
- If you download it manually, copy FS25_RealisticCropRotation.zip (don't unzip it) into the mods folder: Documents > My Games > FarmingSimulator2025 > mods.
- Enable the mod when you create or load your savegame.
- Open the Crop Rotation tab in the menu (Esc) to plan each field before sowing.

Common problems
Does it work on console?
No. The ModHub only offers it for PC/Mac.
Do I need Precision Farming?
No. It works with or without it; with Precision Farming, nitrogen from legumes shows up on its map.
