What this mod does

Extended Chest Range fixes a common annoyance in large bases: crafting benches only use materials from chests that are right next to them. This plugin increases that search radius so you can craft with what’s in your storage room without moving chests next to the bench.

What it does

Horizontal search radius: 20 blocks by default.
Vertical radius: 10 blocks.
Limit on containers checked: 200.
All three values can be changed in config.json, inside the plugin’s data folder.

Note: it extends the material search when crafting, not the distance from which you can open a chest.

Version for Update 7

Version 1.0.6, released October 20, 2026, raises the minimum server version to Hytale 0.7.2 and has been recompiled against that version’s actual API, keeping the previous behavior and config. If your server is still on 0.7.0 or 0.7.1, update it first.

Requirements

Hytale (Early Access) on PC or server, version 0.7.2 or later (file ExtendedChestRange-1.0.6.jar)
No dependencies: no other plugins needed
Access to the plugin's data folder to edit config.json

How to install it

Open the Extended Chest Range page on CurseForge and click Install to install it with the CurseForge app, or download ExtendedChestRange-1.0.6.jar from the Files tab (the file tagged 0.7).
If you download it manually, copy the file as is, without unzipping it, into your mods folder: on Windows %APPDATA%\Hytale\UserData\Mods.
Open Hytale, right-click the world, check Extended Chest Range in the mod list and save the world settings.
On a dedicated server, place the file in the server's mods folder and restart it.
Start it once so config.json gets created, adjust the radii and the container limit, and restart.
