What this mod does
ModernStorage brings a digital storage network to Hytale in the style of Refined Storage or Applied Energistics: instead of dozens of chests, items are stored on disks and browsed from a searchable terminal.
Network parts
- Storage Controller: the heart of the network.
- Storage Terminal and Crafting Terminal: search, pull out and craft directly from what’s stored, in amounts of 1, 5, 10 or X.
- Disk Drive with 1K, 4K, 16K and 64K disks.
- Cables plus Import, Export and Storage Buses with filters, priorities and a mode to keep a fixed amount in stock.
- Infinite wireless upgrade to use the network from a distance.
Progression
Everything is crafted at the Modern Bench, which comes from the regular workbench. Disks tier up with iron (1K), thorium (4K), cobalt (16K) and adamantite (64K), so capacity grows as you progress through the zones. Buses stop when their chunk unloads.
With Update 7
Version 1.0.32, from October 12, 2026, is the one for 0.7; its changelog just celebrates the arrival of the chapter. The author warns that textures are still a work in progress, that recipes and balance may change and that they used AI assistance. With all the new blocks in Update 7, a tidy inventory is welcome.

Requirements
- Hytale (Early Access) on PC or server, version 0.7 (file ModernStorage-1.0.32-U7.jar)

How to install it
- Open the ModernStorage page on CurseForge and click Install to add it with the CurseForge app, or download ModernStorage-1.0.32-U7.jar from the Files tab (the file tagged 0.7).
- If you download it manually, copy the file as is, without unzipping it, into the mods folder: on Windows, %APPDATA%\Hytale\UserData\Mods.
- Open Hytale, right-click the world, check ModernStorage in the mod list and save the world settings.
- On a dedicated server, put the file in the server's mods folder and restart it.
- In game, craft the Modern Bench from the workbench and start with the Storage Controller, a Disk Drive with a 1K disk and a Storage Terminal.

Common problems
Do I need the file with -U7 in its name?
Yes. The author tags each file with the game update; -U6 is for 0.6.
Does the network work with unloaded chunks?
Buses pause. With the wireless upgrade there's a disk read-only mode so you can pull items out even if the access point is unloaded.
Can I automate the furnace?
The description mentions routing to furnaces and processors with the import and export buses.
