What this mod does

Adam’s Sol Enhanced (ASE) is a post-processing filter by iG_ADVM for Sol, Peter Boese’s free weather mod. If you don’t want to pay for a Pure subscription, it’s an easy way to improve lighting and color with Sol. It’s free and has a 4.96 rating from 47 reviews.

What it offers

  • Photorealistic lighting and color through color correction, exposure, RGB levels, gamma and contrast.
  • No vignette, no chromatic aberration, no excessive bloom and no oversaturation.
  • Variants for sunrise, day, sunset, night and cockpit.
  • An onboard camera filter plus the author’s video and Custom Shaders Patch settings.

Version

Version 4.0 was rebuilt from scratch for Sol 2.0.2 and is the final version; the April 2021 patches removed a greenish tint and softened the bloom. It hasn’t been updated since and isn’t designed for Pure. The versions for Sol 1.6 are included separately in the download.

Tips

The author recommends calibrating your monitor before judging the result and using Custom Shaders Patch so it looks like his screenshots. Several users run it in VR.
