What this mod does
IMrIMike’s Custom Miscellaneous Sound Pack replaces Assetto Corsa’s common sound bank, meaning the sounds that don’t depend on each car’s engine: what you hear when you ride a kerb, run onto the grass or rub against another car. Since it changes the common bank, it affects every car in the game.
Sounds it changes
- Kerbs: a new sound when you ride the curbs.
- Grass, gravel and sand, plus artificial turf.
- Dirt: the noise of stones and debris stuck in the wheel wells after you go off track.
- Crashes: several samples for hits against the wall and against other cars.
- Ambience, on tracks that use ambient sounds.
- Pit stops: air guns for tire changes.
Details
The author has roughly matched the volume to the original sounds and clarifies that he’s not necessarily trying to improve on the stock ones, just to offer an alternative. The air gun sounds are tied to the tire change animation, so they don’t fit every car; in Formula 1 pit stops, which are very fast, they run too long.
Versions
1.1 adjusted the kerb, gravel and crash volumes based on user feedback, and 1.21 fixed a bug in 1.2 that left the interior engine sound in mono. Instructions come in the included ReadMe; make a backup first.

Requirements
- Assetto Corsa for PC
- Free OverTake.gg account to download
How to install it
- Back up the common sound files you're going to replace.
- Go to the pack's page on OverTake.gg, log in and download the file (about 23 MB).
- Open the included ReadMe and follow its installation instructions.
- Copy the files into the folders the ReadMe specifies.
- Head out on track and try kerbs, grass and gravel to check the change.
- If you want to go back, restore your backup.
