What this mod does

Hakone Ohiradai Touge was the first entry in skyflightmusic’s 90’s Golden Drift Spot Project series, dedicated to Japan’s real drift spots of the nineties. It recreates the upper section of the Ohiradai pass in Hakone, a mountain road of climbs and descents with nonstop corners, whose turnaround point is at the turnoff to the Ohiradai hot springs.

Version 3.0

In March 2020 the author released a complete rebuild of the track, the third version, which is the one you download from OverTake now.

What to expect

  • A replica of a real touge with constant elevation changes.
  • Banked corners that, according to one review, are great for testing car physics.
  • A short run, designed for repeated drift passes.

Requirements and tips

The author recommends an HDR post-processing filter. Back in the version 2 days he said the track didn’t work with Custom Shaders Patch and advised turning it off; the mod page doesn’t say whether that’s still the case with 3.0, so if it doesn’t load or kicks you back to the menu, try disabling CSP for this track. One user reports the car falling under the map at the start.

Reviews

Most reviews are 5 stars and praise the atmosphere and how much fun it is; the most common complaint is that it’s too short.
