What this mod does

Otarumi Touge is the fourth entry in skyflightmusic’s 90’s Golden Drift Spot Project series. It’s an old mountain road built in 1888 that links Hachioji (Tokyo) and Sagamihara (Kanagawa), considered the closest pass to the Japanese capital. The author chose it because it’s one of the real drift spots of the eighties and nineties, separate from the ones made famous by manga.

The route

  • It mixes different kinds of corners with straights, ideal for linking drifts.
  • It includes the FUJIYA rest area, the only one left of the three or more that served the racers, according to the author.
  • The author makes it clear that he doesn’t aim to recreate the entire road.

Reviews

Reviews describe it as a great drift map, with varied corners and a good look at night. It has a 4.31 out of 5 rating from 72 reviews, somewhat lower than other entries in the series because of technical issues.

Things to keep in mind

Several reviews say it stopped working after updating Custom Shaders Patch, that the trees looked white or blue, or that the game went back to the menu when loading it; other users say it works for them. The latest version, 1.3, is from November 2019 and fixes transparent texture bugs with CSP. Other entries in the series: Dousojin Touge, Oi Wharf, Hakone Ohiradai and Sunrise Circuit.
