What this mod does

LUT Generator for AC is the most downloaded utility in the Assetto Corsa apps section on OverTake.gg, with over 400,000 downloads. It’s made by Akis and it corrects the non-linear behavior of many wheels’ motors: at low force you barely feel anything, and at high force they clip. The program generates a lookup table (LUT) that the game applies to the force feedback so the response is more even.

How it works

  • First you run WheelCheck, a separate tool, with the «Step Log 2 (linear force test)» test and a «Max Count» of 50 or more.
  • Then you open LUTGenerator.exe and load the CSV file WheelCheck created.
  • The program smooths the data, filters out spikes and draws a graph before saving the table.
  • The LUT is saved in the Assetto Corsa cfg folder inside Documents and enabled in ff_post_process.ini.

Who it’s for

It’s meant for gear- or belt-driven wheels, such as entry-level Logitech or Thrustmaster models, where the center of the force feedback feels empty. With the right table you feel small road details better without losing force in fast corners.

Tips

Set the game’s minimum force to 0 when you use the LUT. If you change the wheel gain in the manufacturer’s software, you’ll have to repeat the WheelCheck test and generate a new table.

Common problems

Do I have to repeat the process if I change my wheel settings?

Yes. If you change the gain in the manufacturer's software, run WheelCheck again and generate a new LUT.

Does it work for direct drive wheels?

The mod page doesn't mention specific models; the idea is to correct motors with a non-linear response, which is more typical of gear- and belt-driven wheels.

WheelCheck won't start

Some users mention this on Windows 11 in the reviews. The mod page only links WheelCheck version 1.72.
