What this mod does
If you’re looking for a 1999 Formula 1 car for Assetto Corsa, this is one of the most polished free ones out there. The RTT Formula 1999 F399 recreates the Ferrari that Michael Schumacher, Eddie Irvine and Mika Salo raced that season. It was made by Alexandr Balanesco, founder of Rock The Track Studio, who modeled the car from scratch based on photos and videos and has published a video showing the creation process.

Before you install
The author asks you not to use Content Manager’s automatic install, because it can cause errors: you need to copy the folders by hand into the game’s root folder. He also doesn’t recommend enabling CSP’s Extended Physics option with this version.
The project
It’s the first car in the RTT Formula 1999 series. The author has announced that he wants to recreate all eleven cars from that grid, each with its own model, physics and sound.

Requirements
- Assetto Corsa for PC
- Custom Shaders Patch optional (it also works without it)

How to install it
- Go to the RTT Formula 1999 F399 page on OverTake.gg and log in.
- Download the file (about 116 MB) and unzip it into a temporary folder.
- Copy all the folders it contains into the game's root folder: SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/assettocorsa.
- Don't use Content Manager's automatic install for this mod, as the author warns.
- If you have Custom Shaders Patch, turn off Extended Physics for this car.
- In Content Manager or the official launcher, find the F399 in the car list and pick a driver.
Common problems
The car throws errors after installing it with Content Manager
Delete it and reinstall it by copying the folders by hand into the Assetto Corsa root; the author advises against the automatic installer.
Do I need Custom Shaders Patch?
No. It works with the original game, although with CSP you get extra visual effects.
Are the rest of the 1999 cars included?
This mod only includes the Ferrari. The author plans to release the rest of the grid separately.
