Williams FW31 2009 (VRC) for Assetto Corsa

What this mod does

The Williams FW31 is the car Williams raced in the 2009 Formula 1 season. This mod by the VRC Modding Team, published by Qazdar Karim, is the first version of the car after VRC took over from the FormulaCorsa team, which it credits on the page.

What’s included

• The first batch of VRC’s changes to the 3D model, textures, sounds and physics.

• A KERS version (S1), with its behavior fixed in an update.

Versions

Version 1.4 is from February 5, 2017. The updates brought physics adapted to Assetto Corsa version 1.4.3, reworked tires and aero model, new sounds and fixes to the wings and the steering wheel animation.

Known issues

After Assetto Corsa update 1.7.4, some setups got stuck «validating»; the author blamed a physics feature that Kunos needed to re-enable. Several users report the car didn’t show up after installing it or threw a file-not-found error, and others notice the liveries lose shading at a distance. The page doesn’t specify a CSP version.

How to install it

1. Open the mod page on OverTake.gg and log in.
2. Download the file.
3. Copy the contents into your Assetto Corsa folder or drag it into Content Manager.
4. Check that the car folder ends up inside content/cars.
5. Pick the FW31 (or the S1 version with KERS) and hit the track.
