Assetto Corsa Ultimate Edition: what’s in it, do you need it

What Assetto Corsa Ultimate Edition includes on PC: all 11 DLC, 178 cars and 19 tracks. Console differences, whether mods need it and how to check your DLC.

Updated: 24 Oct 2026

Assetto Corsa Ultimate Edition is the base game plus Kunos’s 11 official paid DLC, in a single package. On PC (Steam) it adds up to 178 cars and 19 tracks with 40 variants. If you play with mods, it’s not mandatory, but it saves you trouble: many servers and some mods use cars or tracks from the official DLC. On console the Ultimate Edition exists, but its content isn’t exactly the same as on PC.

What the Ultimate Edition includes on PC

On Steam, the Ultimate Edition is a bundle containing the base game and every released DLC. According to the bundle page and each DLC’s Steam page:

DLC Release Content according to Steam
Dream Pack 1 March 2015 10 cars and the Nürburgring-Nordschleife track
Dream Pack 2 October 2015 7 cars in 9 configurations and the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit
Dream Pack 3 December 2015 8 cars in 9 configurations and the Brands Hatch circuit
Japanese Pack May 2016 7 Japanese cars in 12 configurations
Red Pack July 2016 7 Italian sports cars and the Red Bull Ring
Tripl3 Pack August 2016 3 cars: Ferrari FXX K, Ferrari 488 GTB and Praga R1
Porsche Pack I October 2016 First batch of officially licensed Porsche cars
Porsche Pack II November 2016 9 Porsche configurations, including the Le Mans-winning 919
Porsche Pack III December 2016 7 modern Porsche race cars, including the 911 RSR 2017
Ready To Race Pack May 2017 10 cars from Audi, Lotus, McLaren, Maserati and Toyota
Ferrari 70th Anniversary Pack September 2017 7 historic and modern Ferraris, including the F1 SF70H

The three Porsche Packs are also sold together as the Porsche Season Pass. Since the 2017 Ferrari 70th Anniversary Pack, Kunos hasn’t released any more DLC for Assetto Corsa, so the Ultimate Edition is still the complete game.

Differences from the base game

The base game and the Ultimate Edition use the same program: same physics, same modes and same mod support. The only thing that changes is the official content. The base game comes with just over 70 cars and more than 20 tracks according to its Steam page (a figure that includes variants), and the Ultimate adds the 11 DLC in the table.

If you already own the base game, you don’t have to buy the Ultimate from scratch. Steam deducts what you already have in your library from the bundle, or you can buy the individual DLC you’re interested in.

As for price, we don’t give figures because they change constantly, but the DLC and the Ultimate Edition usually get big discounts during Steam sales.

Ultimate Edition on console: not the same

The Ultimate Edition for PS4 and Xbox One came out on April 20, 2018. According to its Xbox store listing, it includes the base game with the Japanese Pack, the three Porsche Packs, Red Pack, Ready To Race, Prestige Pack and Ferrari 70th Anniversary, with 178 cars and 16 tracks in 33 configurations. In other words, the car count matches PC, but it has fewer tracks and variants, and the packs are grouped differently (the Prestige Pack only exists on console).

The most important difference is that on console there are no mods. There’s also no native version for PS5 or Xbox Series: you play it through backward compatibility. It’s all in our Assetto Corsa on PS4 and PS5 guide.

Also, don’t confuse this edition with the Ultimate Edition of Assetto Corsa Competizione, which is a different game with different DLC.

Do you need the Ultimate Edition to use mods?

To install mods, no: with the base game on PC you can use Content Manager, Custom Shaders Patch, Sol or Pure and thousands of community cars and tracks. But there are situations where you’ll be missing content:

  • Online servers: many use tracks or cars from the DLC, like the Nordschleife (Dream Pack 1), Barcelona (Dream Pack 2) or the Red Bull Ring (Red Pack). If you don’t have them, you won’t be able to join that server. Content Manager warns you about missing content, but Kunos DLC can’t be downloaded from there: you have to buy it.
  • Mods that depend on official content: some car or track mods reuse files from a DLC, or are improved versions of cars that come in a pack. If the author says the mod requires a DLC, it won’t load or will fail without it.
  • Leagues and platforms: platforms like LFM recommend the Ultimate Edition for the original Assetto Corsa because many of their series use DLC content.

Before installing a mod, read its page: if it needs a DLC, it usually says so. For the step-by-step process, there’s the how to install mods in Assetto Corsa guide, and to choose what to install, the best Assetto Corsa mods guide.

How to check which DLC you have

  • On Steam: in your library, right-click Assetto Corsa, go to Properties and open the DLC section. There you’ll see the DLC you own and whether they’re installed. On the game’s store page, each DLC you already own is marked as in your library.
  • In the bundle: if you open the Ultimate Edition page on Steam while signed in, the store marks which parts you already own.
  • In the game or in Content Manager: if the Nordschleife, Barcelona, Brands Hatch and the Red Bull Ring are in your track list, you have at least the Dream Packs and the Red Pack. To be sure, use the Steam list.
  • On console: check the game’s add-ons in your PlayStation or Xbox library. If you bought the Ultimate Edition, they’re already included.

Frequently asked questions

What’s the difference between Assetto Corsa and the Ultimate Edition?

The game is the same. The Ultimate Edition adds the 11 official DLC: over 100 extra cars and tracks like the Nordschleife, Barcelona, Brands Hatch and the Red Bull Ring.

Is the Ultimate Edition worth it on PC?

If you’re going to play online or in leagues, yes, because many servers use DLC content. If you only play offline with mods, the base game is enough, although you’ll most likely end up wanting the Nordschleife or another DLC.

Can I upgrade from the base game to the Ultimate without paying for everything again?

Yes. On Steam, the bundle price adjusts to what you already own, and you can also buy just the DLC you’re missing.

Does the console Ultimate Edition support mods?

No. Mods only work on PC. On console you play with the official content, which in the Ultimate has 16 tracks instead of PC’s 19.

Will there be more DLC for Assetto Corsa?

Nothing has been announced. The last official DLC is the Ferrari 70th Anniversary Pack, from 2017. Kunos has focused its work on Assetto Corsa Competizione and Assetto Corsa EVO.
