VRC Formula Alpha McLenna MC22 for Assetto Corsa

What this mod does

The McLenna MC22 is part of Formula Alpha, Virtual Racing Cars’ (VRC) series of Formula 1 cars with fictional names. This car is inspired by the 2007 season: the resource tags mention McLaren, Hamilton and Alonso, and VRC’s official video presents it as the MP4/22.

Credits

It’s signed by the VRC Modding Team, with mati.sala90, sam_alonso93, misterbeam, Ferrari64, IMrIMike and SalamanderSoldier.

Driving and version

Users say the caster is high and the steering very sensitive; the team puts it down to how the real car was. Version 1.2, from April 11, 2021, shortened the folder and kn5 file names to avoid shared memory issues. While it was in beta it was a reward for donors; since 1.0 it’s free.

Known issues

Some users notice performance drops with 17-car grids and a color glitch on the wing seen from the cockpit. The page doesn’t specify a CSP version.

How to install it

1. Open the mod page on OverTake.gg and log in.
2. Download the file (the livery pack is separate).
3. Drag it into Content Manager or copy the folder to assettocorsa/content/cars.
4. If you had an earlier version, delete it: 1.2 changed the folder names.
