What this mod does
American Drivers Update, by The_Banana_Man, makes the drivers you hire for your company look like they’re from the United States. In the base game, many of them have Central European names carried over from ETS2; this mod swaps most of them for equivalent American names (Ondrej becomes Andrew), keeping the original lineup.
What’s included
- New names in every game language.
- New AI-generated profile photos for many female drivers and about 170 male drivers; the author is working on the rest.
- According to the author, the diversity of the photos matches the base game’s.
- It doesn’t add drivers.
Real drivers in the game
Some base-game drivers are real people (testers, SCS employees or content creators). The author admits he replaced them without telling them apart, has already restored “Iwona B.” and asks to be told if anyone is missing.
Compatibility
Mods that change the driver names file and sit above it override it. The author has a sister mod, Additional Female Drivers, which adds 250 female drivers and includes these changes: he recommends using only one of the two, and if you combine them, the female drivers mod must go above. No version listed; 1.0.4 is from September 2026.

Requirements

How to install it
- Open the “American Drivers Update” page on Steam Workshop and click “Subscribe”.
- Launch American Truck Simulator and wait for Steam to finish downloading the mod.
- Open your profile's Mod Manager and enable “American Drivers Update”.
- If you use Additional Female Drivers, it's best to use only one of the two; if you combine them, put the female drivers mod above.
- Make sure no other driver names mod sits above this one.

Common problems
Does it add new drivers?
No. It changes the names and photos of existing ones; the sister mod Additional Female Drivers does add 250 female drivers.
Are the photos of real people?
No. They're AI-generated images, according to the author.
I still see the old names. What's wrong?
The mod may not be loading, or another names mod may be above it.
