What this mod does

Realistic Day & Night Duration is a mod by TGModz, who also made a well-known realistic graphics mod. It adjusts sunrise and sunset so the length of the day matches reality where you’re driving. It doesn’t change how fast time passes in the game: only when the sun rises and sets.

How it works

  • Latitude drives the seasonal changes: summer days are longer in the north than in the south.
  • If you have time zones enabled, it also takes longitude into account.
  • The author updates it almost daily.

Version, load order and Convoy

The description lists compatibility with ATS 1.58, although the latest update is from October 19, 2026. It works in Convoy and is optional in multiplayer. The author recommends placing it above graphics mods. He asks people not to reupload it.

Known issues

Several users report problems with the Road Trip DLC: wrong or zero fuel prices for cars. One of them blames outdated state files, for example for South Dakota. There’s no confirmed fix in the visible comments. If you play Road Trip, test it first on a secondary profile.
