What this mod does

Realistic Economy is Slayin_Egos‘s overhaul of the ATS economy. It replaces the stock values with figures based on real US data. According to the author, the sources are DAT, AAA, BLS and ATRI.

What it changes

  • Pay per mile for jobs.
  • Diesel prices in each state, using AAA averages from September 25, 2026. Gas station signs try to show the same price as the pump, except those painted into the texture.
  • Fines, garage and repair costs, hired drivers, parking XP and traffic density.

Compatibility

It’s made for ATS 1.61 and disables itself on other versions. It works with or without DLC. Disable other mods that change fuel prices, fines, traffic or the economy. If you keep them, whichever is higher in the Mod Manager wins. In Convoy, all players need the same mods. When loading an old save, the changed mods warning may appear once.

Known issues

One player saw fuel at 1-1.30 $ during the Road Trip DLC, and the author is looking into it. Another says his drivers lose money on jobs that seemed profitable. The author recommends pairing it with his truck and trailer prices mod.
