What this mod does
Express Performance, by Express Mods & Tips (developers 6 and tarkin711), aims for more FPS in the areas that put the most load on your PC: big cities, desert, countryside and rain. It doesn’t remove traffic: it tunes it with 24-hour curves and rush hours.
What version 1.2 changes
- Global AI vehicle limit from 50 to 22; spawning at 360 m and despawning at 450 m (previously 600 and 800 m).
- Fewer spawn rules in big cities and roughly half the AI trailers, trams, trains and city buses; 39 of 43 rules retuned.
- Grass: 96% less drawn, density from 60 to 29 and distance from 105 to 51 m.
- Reworked rain: storm probability drops from 0.37 to 0.05.
It only edits definition files: it doesn’t touch physics, economy, saves, textures, models, trees, buildings or shadows.
Extra tweaks and warnings
The description suggests optional lines for config.cfg (shadows, SSAO, blur, mirrors and level of detail). If you later apply graphics settings from the menu, they get overwritten. Delete any version 1.1 .scs you installed manually. The author doesn’t promise FPS numbers; one user mentions about 60 FPS in cities. There were game crashes that 1.2 says it fixes, and another user finds the mirror draw distance short.

Requirements
- American Truck Simulator 1.60 or later (the author doesn't list a version)

How to install it
- Open the “EXPRESS PERFORMANCE v1.2 — Real 24h Traffic + FPS Boost” page on Steam Workshop and click “Subscribe”.
- Launch American Truck Simulator and wait for Steam to finish downloading the mod.
- Open your profile's Mod Manager and enable “EXPRESS PERFORMANCE v1.2 — Real 24h Traffic + FPS Boost”.
- If you installed version 1.1 manually (.scs in the mod folder), delete it.
- Don't combine it with other traffic density mods.
- Optional: apply the config.cfg lines suggested in the description and don't apply graphics settings from the menu again.
