ATS traffic mods

Here are 31 mods for American Truck Simulator traffic: Mexican and Costa Rican traffic, buses like Turimex or Omex, local police cruisers, long freight trains, traffic trailers and density mods with realistic rush hours. Many are up to date for 1.61, the stable version; 1.62 is in open beta. Each mod page links only to the official download and notes whether it needs another mod.

The best ATS traffic mods to start with

• Tráfico Mexicano: Mexican carrier liveries, tanker trucks, delivery vehicles and buses, including "full" doubles from five carriers, that only appear in Mexico. By Teotitaco.
• Mexican Traffic Trailer Pack: Castores, Lala, Soriana, Traxion, TUM and XCF trailers in traffic and on the freight market. Lightweight, 7 MB.
• Traffic Buses & Cars - America & Canada: real liveries for buses and vans, from Greyhound and Amtrak to Turimex, Omex and El Expreso.
• Real Traffic Density: more traffic in a realistic way, with rush hours, quiet nights and density based on the road. For 1.61.
• Mr Larrington's ATS Traffic and Trailer Pack: double and triple trailers and cargo from your DLC in traffic. Version 1.61.0.
• Generic Police Removal: removes the generic police cars and leaves each city's and state's local police. The base for several police mods.
• Long Freight Trains: freight trains about 800 meters long with BNSF, UPRR, CN, CPKC and AGCR locomotives. Compatible with all maps.
• Tráfico Costa Rica - El Original: more than 200 Costa Rican liveries for trucks, buses and public agencies. Works on any map except the Costa Rica one.

How to set up your traffic

• Mexican traffic: Tráfico Mexicano only appears in Mexico, so you need a map like Reforma. If you play Reforma with Urban Traffic Overhaul, add the MUO/Reforma patch.
• Just one density mod: Real Traffic Density, RealRoads, More AI Traffic and Brutal Traffic change the same things; if you enable two, the one higher in the Mod Manager wins.
• Local police: Extra City Police Vehicles and Local Police Traffic require Generic Police Removal.
• Performance: the mile-long trains in Very Long Freight Trains can lower your FPS.
• Installation: subscribe on Steam Workshop or copy the file into DocumentsAmerican Truck Simulatormod and activate it in your profile's Mod Manager. In Convoy, everyone needs the same mods.
