The Mexican ATS mods that turn American Truck Simulator into a game set «in Mexico» are, in order of importance: the Reforma map (with its Reforma Mega Resources package), the Real MX Graphics graphics, traffic with Mexican carriers from Tráfico Mexicano and Mexican Traffic Trailer Pack, a Kenworth like the T660 or the T800, plates from all 32 states, and a currency mod to get paid in pesos at the real exchange rate. SCS has no official Mexico DLC, so all of these are free community mods. Below you’ll find each one with its version and compatibility, updated October 22, 2026, plus a load order for using them together on ATS 1.61.

The map: Reforma and its expansions
It all starts with Reforma, the map of Mexico by Team Reforma, a Spanish-speaking mapping team that took over the old Mexico Extremo. Version 3.0.1.161 merges Pacífico, Noreste and Coahuila into the base map, revamps Puerto Vallarta and adds Monclova, Piedras Negras and Nuevo Laredo, with border crossings into California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. It’s free, but it requires lots of state DLCs and the Reforma Mega Resources package of the same version. Which files to download, which DLCs you need and what order they go in are covered in the American Truck Simulator Mexico guide.
The same team has two more maps. Reforma Sierra Nevada reworks Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, Reno and the Tioga and Sonora passes; it doesn’t add Mexican territory, but it matches Reforma visually. Reforma Esterlon is a fictional island country with Mexican-American style signage that you play on a separate profile. If you combine Reforma with other big maps, you need Reforma Other Maps Patch, and with Project Better Arizona, its connection patch.
To head out to sea from Mexico, Vikingo’s ferry collection brings the Mazatlán–Hilo route. And if you’re after South America, Mapkalo swaps the United States for the roads of Colombia in a standalone map.
Graphics: make Mexico look like Mexico
Real MX Graphics, by Marco Mapper, reworks road and environment textures, adjusts the landscape colors and gives towns and roads a look truer to Mexico, without changing the game’s overall style. It’s designed for maps based on Team Reforma, so outside them you’ll barely notice it. Version 1.5 (September 17, 2026) is for ATS 1.61 and goes above the maps and resources whose textures it replaces. The author is working on a v2 with new lighting, weather and vegetation, which he distributes on his Patreon; the free one is v1.
Mexican traffic
ATS’s stock traffic is American. To pass trucks from Mexican carriers, there are three packages that complement each other:
- Tráfico Mexicano (Teotitaco). More than 16,000 subscribers on Steam. Liveries from 17 carriers (Castores, Tres Guerras, TUM, TLASA, Trabal, Cemex and others), double-trailer «full» rigs from five carriers, PEMEX and Grupo Simsa tanker trucks, delivery trucks such as Bimbo, Sabritas or Mercado Libre, and buses from ADO, Primera Plus or Elite Select. It only spawns in Mexico, except for the buses. It doesn’t list a version, and its last update is from January 2026.
- Mexican Traffic Trailer Pack (hjertebager). Six trailer skins (Castores, Lala, Soriana, Traxion, TUM and XCF) that appear in traffic and on the freight market. It weighs 7 MB.
- Traffic Buses & Cars [PackSkins] (MohSkinner). More than 30 liveries for the traffic coaches, including Turimex, Omex VIP and El Expreso, in new and old paint schemes. It weighs 442 MB.
To round it out, Jazzycat’s Bus Traffic Pack adds buses to traffic on any map, Reforma included, and Real World Plates fixes car license plates; every now and then you’ll see one from a Mexican state like Sonora. If you want a Central American vibe, Tráfico Costa Rica brings more than 200 Costa Rican liveries, though it weighs 3.6 GB. No author confirms compatibility between these packages, so the first time, enable them one at a time and check that the traffic shows up.
Trucks and accessories with Mexican flavor
Among mod trucks, the ones most tied to Mexican roads are two free Kenworths:
- Kenworth T660 by JorgeGamer44444: the successor to the T600, version 11.0 for ATS 1.61. The free version comes with one cab and the factory accessories.
- GTM Kenworth T800: the 2015 to 2018 T800 with 4×2 to 8×4 chassis and three cabs. The base mod hasn’t been touched since 2020, so for 1.61 you also need GTM Fixes, placed above it.
JorgeGamer44444 also publishes tuning packs for SCS trucks: the Kenworth W900L Accesories Pack (16.0, ATS 1.61, requires the W900 Tuning Pack DLC), the International LT Accesories Pack (11.0, more than 393 parts) and the Kenworth T680 2022 Accesories Pack, which as of October 22, 2026 is still on version 12.0 for 1.60. To paint them, Compa_Neto’s ¡Viva México! Skin Pack brings designs inspired by Mexico’s national holidays for the T680 and for 32 to 53 ft dry vans, insulated and reefer trailers (it weighs almost 345 MB). The full list of Kenworths, Internationals and Freightliners is in the ATS truck mods guide.
Plates, flags and currency
iShisui’s Mexican plates add an animated plate holder and plates for all 32 states, Mexico City included. They’re for your truck, not for traffic, and the text is fixed: you can’t type your own plate number. If you play from South America, Vajouie’s South American Flags put the flags of all 13 countries on the windows and rear; Mexico’s isn’t in that pack.
ATS includes the Mexican peso as a currency, but with a fixed conversion. kworey’s Real life currency exchange ratio swaps it for the real exchange rate and updates it every Monday; it also adds currencies like ARS, BRL, CLP, COP and PEN. It doesn’t touch wages or freight rates, it goes at the very top, and it conflicts with other economy mods that don’t include its file.
How to combine them: recommended load order
No author publishes an order for the whole set, so this suggestion puts together what each one asks for (top to bottom in the Mod Manager):
- Real life currency exchange ratio (its author asks for it at the very top).
- Real MX Graphics (above the maps whose textures it changes).
- Trucks, accessory packs, plates and skins (with GTM Fixes above the T800).
- Traffic packages, with Real World Plates above density mods.
- Map patches (Other Maps Patch or connections), if you use them.
- Reforma and the other maps.
- Reforma Mega Resources, below all the maps that use it.
Test on a copy of your profile first. If something breaks, disable half the list and narrow it down. The general rules are in the ATS mod load order guide.

Frequently asked questions
Is there an official Mexico DLC for ATS?
No. As of October 22, 2026, SCS hasn’t released or announced any Mexico DLC. You can only drive the country with mods like Reforma. The New Mexico DLC is the US state.
How do I play ATS in Mexican pesos?
Choose MXN as the currency in the game options. If you want the rate to follow the real one, add Real life currency exchange ratio, which updates it every Monday.
Do the Mexican mods work without Reforma?
The trucks, plates, skins and currency do. Tráfico Mexicano and Real MX Graphics need a map with Mexico to make a difference, because the traffic only spawns there and the textures are for Team Reforma’s maps.
Which Mexican traffic mod works on ATS 1.61?
Neither Tráfico Mexicano nor Mexican Traffic Trailer Pack lists a version; they were last updated in January 2026. Lots of players use them, but it’s a good idea to test them on a backup profile.
Are there Mexican plates for the truck?
Yes: iShisui’s, with all 32 states and an animated plate holder. The plate text is fixed.
