What this mod does
Real life currency exchange ratio makes the Mexican peso and the rest of American Truck Simulator’s currencies use the real exchange rate. Its author, kworey, updates it every Monday at 00:00 UTC; as of October 22, 2026, the rates applied are those from October 19.
What it changes
- Recalculates the conversion for USD, CAD, MXN and EUR, the currencies included in the game.
- Adds many more, including several from Latin America: ARS, BRL, CLP, COP and PEN.
- Also adds European and Asian currencies, and even BTC and ETH.
- It doesn’t touch anything else in the economy: wages, freight rates and prices stay the same.
Compatibility
It goes at the very top of the load order and works in Convoy as an optional mod. It conflicts with other economy mods, such as Realistic Economy, unless they include its economy_currencies.kworey.sii file; otherwise, the game falls back to the default economy. The author recommends pairing it with his real fuel prices mod, and he also made Real Life Traffic Density.
For players in Mexico
If you play in pesos, payments stop using a fixed conversion and follow each week’s real exchange rate. There’s a version for Euro Truck Simulator 2 with its own page.

How to install it
- Open the mod's page on Steam Workshop and click Subscribe.
- Launch ATS, enable the mod in the Mod Manager and move it to the very top.
- In the game options, choose the currency you want to play in (for example, MXN).
- Let Steam keep it updated: the exchange rate refreshes every Monday.

Common problems
Does it change wages or freight rates?
No. It only adjusts the conversion between currencies and adds new ones.
Does it include the Mexican peso?
Yes, MXN comes standard in ATS and the mod sets it to the real exchange rate; it also adds ARS, BRL, CLP, COP and PEN.
Can I use it with another economy mod?
Only if that mod includes the author's economy_currencies.kworey.sii file; otherwise, the economy resets.
Does it work in Convoy?
Yes, as an optional mod, according to the author.
