What this mod does
Mapkalo is one of the most veteran Latin American projects for American Truck Simulator. Created by Colombian modder Kaloma Restrepo, it swaps the game’s setting for Colombia: instead of crossing the United States, you drive on real Colombian roads, from the coast to the southwest of the country.
What it offers
- Its own map, separate from the US one.
- Colombia’s main cities connected by real routes.
- Narrow, demanding mountain stretches with lots of curves and elevation changes.
- Local atmosphere in the vegetation, scenery and traffic.
Who it’s for
For anyone who wants to experience road haulage in South America, with slower, more technical trips than North American highways. It’s very popular among Colombian players and, more broadly, among those looking for a Spanish-language map outside Mexico.
Since it’s a standalone map, you’ll normally play it on its own profile. The official website offers the ATS 1.61 version in 7 files that are enabled in a specific order, and it also asks for the Stoks mod from Steam Workshop. There’s also a community server (MundoATS) for driving the map with others.
Mapkalo and Mundo ATS
Lots of people search for «Mundo ATS Mapkalo». MundoATS (mundoats.com) isn’t another map: it’s the community that runs the official server for driving Mapkalo with other players (you join with the server ID) and offers guides and a free camera tool. The official downloads are still on mapkalo.com. MundoATS itself clarifies that it isn’t the map’s official website.
On the download page, the 7 files are listed from top to bottom like this: 07 Actualización Mapkalo, 06 Mapkalo ATS4, 05 Mapkalo ATS1, 04 Model Colombia, 03 Mapkalo ATS2, 02 Mapkalo ATS3 and 01 Terminales Mapkalo. How to install it
- Go to the download page on mapkalo.com and download the map's 7 files.
- Copy them to Documents/American Truck Simulator/mod.
- Subscribe to the Stoks mod on Steam Workshop, which the official website lists as required.
- Create a new profile to avoid conflicts with other maps.
- In the Mod Manager, enable the files in the exact order the website shows: 07 (Actualización) at the top and 01 (Terminales) at the bottom.
- Start the game with that profile and do a couple of deliveries to unlock jobs.
Common problems
Can I combine it with Reforma or other US maps?
It's a standalone map that replaces the game's map, so it isn't meant to be mixed with them.
Where can I download it safely?
From mapkalo.com. Avoid reuploads on third-party sites, which often have old versions.
The map won't load
Use a new profile and check that you have all the files for the current version and the right ATS version.
Are Mapkalo and Mundo ATS the same thing?
No. Mapkalo is Kaloma Restrepo's Colombia map and is downloaded from mapkalo.com. MundoATS is the community with the official server for playing it online, plus setup guides.
