What this mod does

Reforma is the go-to Mexico expansion for American Truck Simulator. It’s developed by Team Reforma, a team of Spanish-speaking mappers who took over and expanded the old Mexico Extremo project, and they keep it up to date with every game version. The base version is free; there are separate paid expansions that you don’t need to play.

What it adds to the game

  • A road network across much of Mexico, with cities, industrial parks, gas stations and border crossings with California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas.
  • In 3.0.1, the regions that used to be separate (Pacífico, Noreste and Coahuila) are merged into the base map, with a revamped Puerto Vallarta and new areas such as Monclova, Piedras Negras and Nuevo Laredo.
  • Two new crossings with the Texas DLC: Piedras Negras to Eagle Pass and Nuevo Laredo to Laredo.
  • Exploration icons across the whole map, speed limit adjustments, improved ambient sound and fixes for bumps and terrain glitches.
  • Gas stations, rest areas and hotels ready for driving by car ahead of the Road Trip DLC.

Who it’s for

For anyone who wants to run routes through Mexico without leaving ATS, with cross-border loads and roads that look the part. If you already use other big maps like Coast to Coast or ProMods, Team Reforma publishes a dedicated compatibility patch.

Version

Version 3.0.1.161 is built for ATS 1.61. It needs almost all the map DLCs for the western and central United States; if you’re missing any, the game may crash on load. Always download from the official website: some sites redistribute old versions or even the paid version without permission.

If you combine Reforma with other maps, the author publishes the Reforma Other Maps Patch to connect them. And to see trucks and buses from Mexican companies on the road, there’s Tráfico Mexicano.

What is Team Reforma? It’s the team of Spanish-speaking mappers that develops Reforma, the best-maintained Mexico map mod for American Truck Simulator. It has absorbed earlier projects like Mexico Extremo and, since version 3.0, the former Reforma Pacífico, Noreste and Coahuila expansions are part of the base map. «Reforma Map», «Reforma Maps» and «Reforma ATS» are all names for the same map; its only official download site is teamreforma.com.

Where does Mexico appear in the game? Reforma connects to the SCS map along the borders of California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. Version 3.0 added two crossings with the Texas DLC: Piedras Negras–Eagle Pass and Nuevo Laredo–Laredo. Its cities include Puerto Vallarta, Monclova, Piedras Negras, Nuevo Laredo, Sabinas Hidalgo and Cuatro Ciénegas. SCS doesn’t have an official Mexico DLC and hasn’t announced one (updated October 22, 2026), so for now you can only drive through Mexico with mods: we explain it in American Truck Simulator Mexico.

Common problems

The game crashes when loading with Reforma

Most often a required map DLC or the Mega Resources pack is missing, or the pack is a different version. Check the DLC list and make sure both files are the same version.

Is it compatible with Coast to Coast?

Yes, using the compatibility patch Team Reforma publishes, placed above all maps in the load order.

Is Reforma free?

The base version is. Team Reforma and some of its members offer additional paid content, which you don't need to play the base map.

What happened to Mexico Extremo?

Mexico Extremo became part of the Reforma project; it's no longer updated separately.

Is there an official Mexico DLC for ATS?

No. As of October 22, 2026, SCS hasn't announced one; you can only drive through Mexico with mods like Reforma.

Does Reforma work on the 1.62 beta?

Version 3.0.1.161 is built for ATS 1.61. If you join the 1.62 open beta (live since October 20, 2026), wait for Team Reforma to release the updated version.

Where can I download Reforma Map?

Only on teamreforma.com, along with Reforma Mega Resources of the same version; other websites redistribute copies without permission.
