Road Trip: Ford DLC mods for ATS (2026)

The best mods for the Ford cars in the ATS 1.61 Road Trip DLC: real engines, police lights, accessories, GPS, fuel range and jobs, with version and size.

Updated: 3 Nov 2026

As of November 3, 2026, the best mods for the Road Trip: Ford DLC for American Truck Simulator are free, live on Steam Workshop, and almost all of them require the DLC: More Ford Engines & Drivetrains adds real engines and transmissions to all four Fords, SCS Mustang TuningPack tunes the 1967 Mustang, F150 Accessories turns the F-150 into an overland pickup, Crown Vic Pack makes the Crown Victoria a patrol car or a taxi, and Rideshare Jobs gives you passenger jobs in car mode. Below are 18 mods by type, with version, size and warnings, plus three mod cars that don’t need the DLC.

What the Road Trip: Ford DLC adds

Road Trip: Ford came out on September 29, 2026, two weeks after the ATS 1.61 update (September 15). According to the SCS Software blog and the Steam store, it unlocks Car Mode and four drivable Fords: the 1967 Mustang Fastback, the 2023 F-150, the 2023 Bronco and the 1998-2012 generation Crown Victoria. With them you take small errands, build your courier reputation, explore with the Atlas and collect postcards. The cars are bought at Ford dealerships and customized in the shop like a truck. On the US Steam store it costs $7.99 (the price varies by region). The 1.62 beta expands the tourist signs but doesn’t change the cars.

What the mods do and what you need

  • They’re add-ons, not new cars. They change parts on the four Fords, which is why almost all of them require the DLC: without it, there’s nothing for them to modify. You install them by subscribing on Steam Workshop.
  • Game version. All of them are made for 1.61, although many authors don’t list it («Not listed» in the table). For the 1.62 beta, only Rines Bronco for the F-150 confirms it. If in doubt, run your log through the ATS mod analyzer.
  • Multiplayer. In Convoy everyone has to run the same mods, except the optional ones (here, Longer Range). Economy and physics mods are single-player only.
  • One mod per part. Two engine or headlight packs for the same car clash: pick one of each type and back up your profile.

Engines and drivetrains

More Ford Engines & Drivetrains! is the most-followed mechanical pack, with over 3,000 subscribers: engines, transmissions and chassis that Ford actually sold for all four cars, from the F-150’s 2.7 EcoBoost to the Crown Victoria’s 428 Police Interceptor, with real figures and without replacing the stock parts. Users report it clashes with Ford F-150 Custom Parts. Ford Tuning Playground 2.0 puts engines, transmissions, suspensions and bigger fuel tanks on all four Fords; its 5,000 and 10,000 hp engines are experimental. Ford Cars: Any Engine, Any Gearbox lets you fit any of the official engines and transmissions on any car, like the F-150’s V8 in the 1967 Mustang; if you remove it, your save will warn about missing dependencies.

Police and lights

Nimir-Raj’s Crown Vic Pack is the shortest route to a patrol car: police and taxi paint jobs, light bars, push bumper and siren in 2.9 MB. On the pickup, Ford F-150 Police Lights puts a red and blue LED bar on the roof and strobes in the grille, in three variants and with no siren. For regular headlights, Mushroom’s LED Lights swaps the F-150’s and Bronco’s for modern LED beams, and Light Orange Oldschool Headlights gives the 1967 Mustang the amber glow of sixties headlights without losing range.

Accessories, wheels and Bronco editions

With over 14,000 subscribers, TheMoiza’s SCS Mustang TuningPack is the most popular Road Trip mod: stanced chassis, rims, bumpers, spoilers, exhausts and a custom engine for the 1967 Mustang (version 2.0 from October 9, 2026). Users report odd braking with the mod’s engine; use the stock one if that happens to you. F150 Accessories brings a two-inch lift, bull bar, roof platform and snorkel for the F-150, with almost 7,800 subscribers and 190 MB; it’s a work in progress. F150 Bed Accessories focuses on the bed: folding tonneau cover, expedition rack with a rooftop tent, and a camper with lights. CinemaLife Bronco Expedition dresses the Bronco in Expedition Olive paint, 18-inch dark bronze wheels and 37-inch mud-terrain tires, without the roof gear. Rines Bronco para la Ford F-150, by a Spanish-speaking author, fits the Bronco’s wheels on the pickup; load it below the F-150 accessories.

Fuel range and cruise control

Longer Range for Road Trip Cars offers six range levels, from 1.5x to 20x, which you pick in the garage; it needs realistic fuel consumption turned on and is optional in Convoy. Road Trip Cruise Speed Hold, at 52 KB, makes cruise control hold your speed on downhills instead of running away. Road Trip Zero Fuel Consumption sets fuel consumption to zero with stock engines: it’s an economy mod, single-player only.

Seat and GPS

Jobs for car mode

Rideshare Jobs for Road Trip turns your car into a rideshare vehicle, with passenger trips of up to 559 miles, airport pickups and VIP customers, and it includes a Spanish translation. It only works with the official cars; it weighs in at over 260 MB.

Watch out for mods that change global physics

F-150 EV300K Electric Motor turns the F-150 into a 300,000 hp EV with a single-speed gearbox, but it changes the braking physics of every vehicle, trucks included, and must load above other physics mods: single-player only and with a profile backup. If you don’t own the DLC: mod cars without Road Trip

These three are bought at the mod dealership like any other truck, and none of their authors require the DLC (the Parati and the Dark Horse are declared compatible with Road Trip). Nimit’s Ford Explorer Platinum 2019, updated to 1.61 on September 5, 2026, is downloaded from his thread on the SCS forum (file on Modsfire: click only the download button). Cristhian Cardoso’s Volkswagen Parati 1994 is on Steam Workshop, weighs 28.38 MB and works on 1.61 and 1.62 according to the author. The Ford Mustang Dark Horse S650 2026, also by Nimit, is only confirmed for the 1.62 beta (version 1.1, 174.69 MB) and is downloaded from his ModLand account.

Frequently asked questions

Do Road Trip mods work without the DLC?

No: they modify the four Fords from the DLC, so without it there’s nothing for them to change.

Which cars does Road Trip: Ford include?

According to SCS Software, the 1967 Mustang Fastback, the 2023 F-150, the 2023 Bronco and the 1998-2012 Crown Victoria, plus car mode, courier errands and the Atlas.

Can I use these mods in Convoy?

Only if every player runs them, except optional ones like Longer Range. Economy and physics mods, never.

They’re made for 1.61. Only Rines Bronco for the F-150 lists 1.62; for the rest, wait for the author to confirm it.

Can I install two engine packs at the same time?

Better not: engine, transmission and headlight packs for the same car clash. Pick one per type.
