Urban Traffic Overhaul for American Truck Simulator

What this mod does

Urban Traffic Overhaul (formerly Minor Urban Overhaul) greatly increases traffic density in ATS’s big urban areas and leaves the rest of the map with default traffic. That way, freeways in Los Angeles or Phoenix feel packed without a remote Nevada road looking like a traffic jam.

How it does it

• Quaristice hand-marks the busy areas in the map editor: it’s not just a tweak to traffic files, it’s a map edit.
• It widens some freeways and builds up parts of Phoenix.
• There’s a Lite version with only the Phoenix scenery changes, but it only goes up to ATS 1.59.

Compatibility

Since it touches sectors across the whole map, the author believes you need all map DLC. He doesn’t know of any conflicts with ProMods Canada, and it usually gets along with small maps if you put them above it. There are old patches for Reforma, US Expansion, Sierra Nevada 2.2 and PaZzMod. To combine it with traffic rules mods, the author explains which two files to delete inside the .scs.

Version

v25 is from September 25, 2026. The thread doesn’t list the game version, but older versions are marked as incompatible with 1.58 and later, so always use the latest one. After the company name changes in 1.53, some logos don’t match.

Requirements

• An up-to-date American Truck Simulator (v25 came out with 1.61 already released)
• Probably all map DLC

How to install it

1. Open the official thread and download v25 from the author's Google Drive link.
2. Copy the .scs to Documents/American Truck Simulator/mod.
3. Place any small maps you use above it.
4. If you use a traffic rules mod, delete the traffic_data.sii and traffic_rules_spawn.sui files inside the .scs, as the author explains.
