What this mod does
On US highways it’s common to see trucks pulling two or three trailers, but American Truck Simulator’s traffic almost always shows simple combinations. The pack by Mr Larrington, distributed from his thread on the official SCS forum, fixes that and adds more variety to what you pass on the road.
What it adds
- Doubles and triples in traffic, with different body types: bulk haulers, tankers, flatbeds, reefers and more.
- Visible cargo from the cargo DLCs you have installed, so traffic trailers carry the full available range.
- More traffic trucks capable of pulling those combinations.
- Separate modules per DLC: you only enable the ones for the packs you own.
How it’s made
It works with the trucks, trailers and cargoes from the game itself and its DLCs, rearranged so they appear in traffic. It also includes an optional add-on for Jazzycat’s traffic packs, which only works if you have them installed.
Who it’s for
For anyone who wants more believable traffic without changing the map or the physics. It’s lightweight, but you should follow the load order the author lays out in the instructions file, especially if you use sound mods or other traffic packs. Requirements
- American Truck Simulator 1.61
- The DLC modules only work if you own the corresponding DLC
- Jazzycat's traffic packs only if you enable their add-on
How to install it
- Open Mr Larrington's official thread on the SCS forum and find the download link for version 1.61.0.
- Download the compressed file and unzip it.
- Copy the base module and the modules for the DLCs you own to Documents/American Truck Simulator/mod.
- In the Mod Manager, enable the base module and the matching add-ons.
- Order them according to the readme file that comes with the pack, especially if you use sound or traffic mods.
- Load your save and hit the highway to see the new combinations.
Common problems
Do I need all the DLCs?
No. The pack has a base module and add-ons per DLC; enable only the ones for the DLCs you own.
Can I use it with Jazzycat's packs?
Yes. There's a dedicated add-on for them, which requires having those packs installed.
Does it change my trailers or my jobs?
It's designed for AI traffic; your jobs and owned trailers don't change.
