What this mod does
OpenRoad: More Traffic is a mod by ALEXaloysha that raises the maximum number of AI vehicles in American Truck Simulator from 50 to 300. To do this, it changes the max_vehicle_count value in the def/traffic_data.sii file.
How to adjust density
The mod only lifts the cap: you decide how much traffic there is with the g_traffic variable. The default value is 1.0 and the game accepts 0 to 10. You can change it in the config.cfg file with the game closed or from the developer console.
- The author recommends starting with 3.
- At 4 or 5, traffic is already very dense in big cities.
Compatibility
It’s built from the 1.61 files. It’s single-player only: the author says it’s not meant for TruckersMP or Convoy, and that it may need an update after a major game release. No DLC required.
Load order
It’s part of the same author’s OpenRoad mod family. If you use several, More Traffic goes last in the group, because the ones above it already include the changes from the ones below when they edit the same file. It may conflict with other mods that change traffic_data.sii.

Requirements

How to install it
- Open the "OpenRoad: More Traffic" page on Steam Workshop and click "Subscribe".
- Launch American Truck Simulator and wait for Steam to finish downloading the mod.
- Open the Mod Manager in your profile and enable "OpenRoad: More Traffic".
- Confirm the changes and exit the game.
- Open Documents/American Truck Simulator/config.cfg and change the g_traffic value (the author recommends starting with 3).
- Start the game again and load your profile.

Why don't I notice more traffic?

No. The author says it's single-player only.
