What this mod does
Realistischer Autobahn-Verkehr & KI-Flow Fix («realistic highway traffic») is a mod by lippstadt78 for American Truck Simulator 1.61+. Its goal is to make traffic flow better on interstates. It’s at version 2.19, which the author calls «GIGA».
What it changes
- AI following distance between 1.8 and 2.8 (ai_spacing_time), so more trucks spawn at high g_traffic values.
- Safety modifier at 0.6, so drivers stay cautious.
- Shorter waits at intersections and weigh stations: between 1 and 2 (ai_yield_wait_time).
- Removes police, fire trucks, ambulances, tow trucks and roadside assistance from traffic.
- The Opalin bus only appears on urban and local roads, and rarely.
- More Peterbilt 579s, without trucks driving into residential areas.
Installation and compatibility
Place it at the very top, above maps. On your first drive, type g_traffic 0 in the console and then the value you use, to clear the traffic the game had stored. According to the author, it works with Coast to Coast, Reforma and ProMods Canada. No DLC required.

Requirements

How to install it
- Open the "Realistischer Autobahn-Verkehr & KI-Flow Fix" page on Steam Workshop and click "Subscribe".
- Launch American Truck Simulator and wait for Steam to finish downloading the mod.
- Open the Mod Manager in your profile and enable "Realistischer Autobahn-Verkehr & KI-Flow Fix".
- Place it at the very top, above maps.
- Load your profile and, on your first drive, type g_traffic 0 in the console and then the g_traffic value you use.

Common problems
Does it work with Reforma?
Yes. The author says it works with the big map mods, such as Coast to Coast, Reforma and ProMods Canada.
Why don't I see police or ambulances?
The mod removes them from traffic on purpose, along with fire trucks, tow trucks and roadside assistance.
What is g_traffic 0 for?
The author recommends it on your first drive to clear the traffic the game had loaded.
