What this mod does
ATS AI Traffic No Default SCS Cars is a config mod by Kass, the author of Brutal Traffic, that removes all of the game’s stock cars from American Truck Simulator traffic. Those slots get filled by the cars from whatever traffic packs and vehicle mods you have installed.
What it’s for
Even if you install realistic car packs, the SCS models keep showing up and end up repeating. With this mod they stop spawning, so your modded cars appear more often and traffic feels more varied.

Version and requirements
Version 1.3, from September 18, 2026, is the one for ATS 1.61. It came out in March 2026 for 1.58, and the author has updated it with every game version since. It doesn’t require any DLC or other mods, and the page doesn’t specify a load order.
Before you install it
It only makes sense if you use a traffic car pack, since its whole job is to make room for one. Kass publishes separate versions for trucks and buses.

How to install it
- Open the mod's page on TruckyMods and click the download button (or use the Trucky client).
- Copy the .scs file to Documents/American Truck Simulator/mod.
- Launch ATS and open the Mod Manager.
- Enable the mod along with your traffic car packs.
- Load your profile and drive for a while to see how traffic changes.

Common problems
Will the roads be empty of cars?
The mod removes the SCS cars; the ones you see will come from your traffic packs, so use it with at least one installed.
Does it also remove trucks or buses?
No. Kass publishes separate mods for trucks and for buses.
Does it affect performance?
Not noticeably, according to the author.
