What this mod does

Realistic EV License Plates is a small mod by MossyMuss_ that gives special plates to electric vehicles in traffic in American Truck Simulator, just like in some real US states.

What’s included

  • EV plates in four states: Arizona, Colorado, Illinois and Nevada.
  • It only affects base game vehicles (the SCS ones).
  • It’s very lightweight: under 100 KB.

Compatibility and load order

The author has tested it on version 1.61. Sound Fixes Pack is already compatible with this mod with no separate patch: place it above Realistic EV License Plates in the Mod Manager. As for US Car Culture, the author believes it isn’t compatible, because it changes the same files. No DLC required.

Author’s note

The author isn’t American and warns that some plates may contain mistakes, because good references aren’t always available. If you spot one, you can let the author know in the Steam comments.

Version

It was released on July 24, 2026 and the latest update is from October 11, 2026. It has 4 changelog entries and over 800 subscribers. The author also has a version for Euro Truck Simulator 2.

Requirements

How to install it

  1. Open the "Realistic EV License Plates" page on Steam Workshop and click "Subscribe".
  2. Launch American Truck Simulator and wait for Steam to finish downloading the mod.
  3. Open the Mod Manager in your profile and enable "Realistic EV License Plates".
  4. If you use Sound Fixes Pack, place it above this mod.
  5. Confirm the changes and load your profile.
