What this mod does

Peterbilt 351 is the second chapter in Smarty‘s series of classic Peterbilts. The author presents it as a worthy successor to the 350 and points out that this truck, sold between 1954 and 1976, starred in one of its most famous movie appearances.

What it offers

  • Standard chassis with Rockwell SLDD double-reduction axles and low ratios, from 4.68 to 5.90, designed for period engines.
  • Alternative chassis with Hendrickson RS or Stabilaire suspension and SQHD axles, with ratios from 3.70 to 4.63, which pair better with modern engines.
  • Engine sound using Kriechbaum samples.
  • Paint templates on the author’s website (May 2024 version).

Current version

Version 1.2 is the one listed in the thread, dated August 9, 2026, and it’s 80.96 MB. The author doesn’t state the game version, but the date corresponds to the ATS 1.60 era. Smarty only publishes on Steam Workshop and scr-rigs.com.

Recommended pairings

If you want Eaton transmissions with real naming, Real Eaton Fuller Transmissions has included this truck since January 2026. Smarty also publishes a Wheel Pack with period wheels and tires, although the thread doesn’t say whether they’re assigned to this truck.
