What this mod does
This is the American Truck Simulator adaptation of Realistic Brutal Graphics And Weather, Kass’s weather and lighting mod. It deeply changes how American roads look depending on the time of day and the weather, with a special focus on rain and storms.
What it changes
- HDR lighting tuned for day, night, tunnels and wet asphalt, with eye adaptation when the light changes.
- Rain with more than ten intensities, raindrops and distortion on the windows, and tire spray from your truck and from traffic.
- Visible lightning, more than 40 thunder sounds and several densities of fog and mist.
- Reworked sea, river, lake and reservoir water, cloud shadows, night skies and different kinds of sunrises and sunsets.
- LED streetlights, traffic light timings, low and high beams and truck physics adjusted to work with the mod; version 11 also retunes traffic behavior.
- An exterior camera that lets you zoom out farther from the truck.

For ATS players who want more changeable, realistic weather, even on modest PCs that meet the official minimum requirements. It’s compatible with most maps.
Version
Version 11.2, updated on September 27, 2026, is compatible with ATS 1.61. The author asks you not to combine it with other weather, rain, sky or graphics mods.

How to install it
- Go to the author's official website (brutaluniverse.com) or its Steam Workshop page and download version 11.2.
- If the file is compressed, extract it to get the mod's .scs file.
- Copy the .scs into Documents\American Truck Simulator\mod.
- Launch the game, open the Mod Manager and enable the mod.
- Disable any other weather, lighting, physics or traffic mods that might overlap.
- Start your save and check the weather out on the road.
