Weather 3.9 4K (dirceu junior) for American Truck Simulator

What this mod does

Weather 3.9 4K is the sky and weather mod by dirceu junior for American Truck Simulator. It replaces the game’s sky (skybox) with 4096×1024-pixel textures and adds new weather types. According to the author, it works with all maps, so you can also use it with modded maps.

• New skies in 4K resolution (4096×1024).

• 30% smaller than the previous version. Even so, the file is around 2.6 GB.

Compatibility and load order

The description lists game versions 1.60 and 1.61, and the latest update is from September 4, 2026. In the comments, the author confirms it’s compatible with Grimes’ seasonal mods, such as Spring, and asks you to place it above them in the Mod Manager. It doesn’t need any DLC.

dirceu junior publishes a lighter 2K version and an 8K version on Steam Workshop. He also has separate add-ons: new lighting, no fog, VR and Linux. His skies are used, with his permission, in Ultimate Graphics Mod. Older versions, such as 3.7, are in his thread on the SCS forum.

Requirements

• American Truck Simulator 1.60 or 1.61
• A Steam account
• About 2.6 GB of free disk space
• No DLC or other mods needed

How to install it

1. Open the “Weather_3.9_4k” page on Steam Workshop and click “Subscribe.”
2. Launch American Truck Simulator and wait for Steam to finish downloading the mod.
3. Open your profile's Mod Manager and enable “Weather_3.9_4k.”
4. If you use Grimes' seasonal mods, place Weather 3.9 above them.
5. Confirm the changes and load your profile.
