What this mod does
YARA (Yet Another Route Advisor) is a UI mod by Cal that replaces the stock route advisor in American Truck Simulator. Instead of the big block at the bottom, it moves almost all the information to a strip at the top of the screen and redesigns the HUD mirrors so they take up less space without losing their function. It has over 61,000 subscribers on Steam Workshop.
What you need to know
- It doesn’t show the time and has no GPS or navigation: the author did that on purpose.
- In current versions of the game you need to enable the widgets: press F1, go to Widgets and turn on navigation, tachometer, company messages, finances and damage.
- Version 1.57 and earlier needed a separate plugin; since 1.58 it’s no longer required.
Version
The author’s notes say it’s now compatible with 1.61, and the latest update is from October 4, 2026. The description warns that it’s for 1.61 and earlier only and that the game may crash on other versions, so don’t enable it on the 1.62 beta. It’s about 38.6 MB and doesn’t require any DLC.

Comments are closed and the author doesn’t allow reuploads. Cal also publishes a version for Euro Truck Simulator 2. Since there’s no on-screen navigation, you’ll have to find your way with the in-game map.

Requirements
- American Truck Simulator updated to version 1.61
- A Steam account to subscribe on the Workshop
- Navigation, tachometer, company messages, finances and damage widgets enabled (F1)
- No DLC or other mods required
How to install it
- Open the “YARA - Yet Another Route Advisor” page on Steam Workshop and click “Subscribe.”
- Launch American Truck Simulator and wait for Steam to finish the download.
- Enable “YARA” in your profile's Mod Manager.
- Once in your save, press F1, go to Widgets and turn on navigation, tachometer, company messages, finances and damage.
- Check that the information appears at the top of the screen.

Common problems
Why don't I see anything after enabling it?
You need to enable the widgets with F1: navigation, tachometer, company messages, finances and damage.
Does it have GPS?
No. The author removed navigation on purpose, and it doesn't show the time either.
Do I need the plugin mentioned in the description?
Only on 1.57 and earlier; since 1.58 it's not needed.
Does it work on the 1.62 beta?
The author says it's for 1.61 and earlier only and that the game may crash on other versions.
