What this mod does
True Mirror FOV for ATS is a mod by edkode that changes the position, height and field of view (FOV) of the mirrors to mimic those on American trucks. It has more than 140,000 subscribers and a separate version for ETS2.
What it changes
- The main mirrors are flat on both sides. They show distance and nearby traffic 1:1, without distortion.
- The small convex mirrors give a wider, though distorted, view to reduce blind spots.
- It also changes the field of view of the front and side mirrors.
- It works with trucks from every brand in the game.
Load order
The author recommends putting it at the very top of the Mod Manager, above all other mods, to avoid game crashes.
Version
The latest changelog note, from September 26, 2026, is “compatibility fix for 1.61”. Before that, there were fixes for 1.57 and 1.58 in February 2026.
Tip
Don’t combine it with other mods that change the mirrors’ field of view, such as Realistic Mirror FOV, because they touch the same thing. In the comments, a user explains how to manually adjust the FOV values in one of the mod’s files. If you do, keep a copy: updates overwrite it.

- Wait for Steam to download it and launch American Truck Simulator.
- In the Mod Manager, enable True Mirror FOV for ATS and confirm the changes.
- Move it to the very top of the list, above all other mods.
- Don't combine it with other mirror FOV mods.
