Grass 4.0 4K (dirceu junior): high-resolution grass for American Truck Simulator

What this mod does

Grass_4.0_ATS_4k is a graphics mod by dirceu junior that improves the grass in American Truck Simulator with 4K-resolution textures, as its title says. It has almost 28,000 subscribers on Steam Workshop. It’s by the same author as Weather 3.9 4K and Tree Improved 4K, which already have pages on Holymod.

What you need to know

• It’s almost 3 GB, so the download takes a while and uses quite a bit of disk space.
• The author says any load order should work.
• It isn’t compatible with the “Fael Environment” and “Season Grimes” mods.
• One user says they use it without problems with Project Nextgen and with the same author’s weather and trees.

Version

The description says it’s updated to 1.60, and the latest update is from June 21, 2026. In September a user asked about 1.61 and the author hasn’t replied on the page. The description also mentions a “Grass_3.8”, which may be left over from an older version.

Performance

The page gives no performance data. 4K textures need more video memory: if you notice stuttering, try disabling it to check whether it’s the cause.

The author has no ETS2 version: he says it would be too much work. He accepts donations on Ko-fi.

How to install it

1. Open the “Grass_4.0_ATS_4k” page on Steam Workshop and click “Subscribe”.
2. Launch American Truck Simulator and wait for Steam to finish the download.
3. Open your profile's Mod Manager and enable the mod.
4. Disable Fael Environment or Season Grimes if you use them: the author says they aren't compatible.
