What this mod does

Google Navigation (light theme) is a mod by WILQ that gives the American Truck Simulator navigation and map the look of Google Navigation. It’s the ATS version of the mod Holymod already lists for ETS2. It has over 29,000 subscribers.

What changes

  • A Google-inspired route color. Since version 1.2, discovered and undiscovered roads are shown in gray; the author says this is on purpose, to make them easier to see.
  • Redesigned, larger map icons, with a smaller player icon.
  • A cursor similar to Google Navigation’s.
  • A Google-style UI for the SCS phone, in Polish and English.

It’s optional in SCS multiplayer and works with all SCS trucks.

Add-ons

The author offers separate compatibility add-ons for ProMods and others to bring back road colors.

Version

According to the changelog, 1.1 was compatible with 1.54 and 1.2 with 1.57. The author says he doesn’t update his mods as long as they keep working on the new game version. The latest update is from December 27, 2025 and it’s about 315 KB. It’s only published on Steam Workshop.

Requirements

  • American Truck Simulator (the author confirms it up to 1.57)
  • Steam account to subscribe on the Workshop
  • No DLC or other mods required

How to install it

  1. Open the “Google Navigation (light theme)” page on Steam Workshop and click “Subscribe”.
  2. Launch American Truck Simulator and wait for Steam to finish the download.
  3. Open your profile's Mod Manager and enable the mod.
  4. If you play with ProMods or want colored roads, also subscribe to the add-on the author links.

Common problems

Why are the roads gray?

It's on purpose since version 1.2; the author offers add-ons to bring back the color.

Does it work on Convoy?

Yes, the author says it's optional in SCS multiplayer.

Does it have a Google voice?

The page doesn't say.
