What this mod does
Realistic Mirror FOV is a mod by TruckerKid for American Truck Simulator. It sets the field of view (FOV) of the main mirrors and wide-angle mirrors on all trucks to more realistic values. It has more than 200,000 subscribers.
What it changes
- Main mirrors and wide-angle mirrors: more realistic field of view.
- The mirrors above the door and the hood mirrors aren’t touched.
- It works with all SCS trucks and with modded trucks, according to the author.
Version
The author released patches for 1.52 and 1.53. On March 27, 2025, he stated that the mod no longer depends on the game version. The latest changelog note, from February 11, 2026, fixes a bug related to the new garages.
What players say
Opinions in the comments are mixed. Some say it works on 1.58 or 1.60. Others had problems loading their save, although one found out the culprit was another mod, “Simple No Damage”.
Tip
Don’t combine it with other mods that change the mirrors’ field of view, such as True Mirror FOV: both touch the same thing, so it’s best to use only one.

How to install it
- Open the mod's page on Steam Workshop and click “Subscribe”.
- Wait for Steam to download it and launch American Truck Simulator.
- In the Mod Manager, enable Realistic Mirror FOV and confirm the changes.
- Don't use it together with other mirror FOV mods.

Does it work with modded trucks?
Yes, according to the author it works with SCS and modded trucks.
