What this mod does
Asphalt_improved_1.5_ETS_4k is a graphics mod by dirceu junior, who also made Weather 3.9 4K and Tree Improved 4K. It replaces the asphalt textures in Euro Truck Simulator 2 with 4K ones so the roads look more detailed.
What it changes
- 4K asphalt textures.
- Since the 1.60 update, the asphalt is less shiny.
- The same author offers a 2K version for PCs with less video memory.
Size
The 4K version weighs 4.5 GB, so it takes a while to download and uses quite a bit of disk space. If your graphics card is short on memory or you notice stuttering, try the 2K version.
Load order
The author asks you to place it above all graphics and map mods in the Mod Manager.
Version
The description says it’s updated for 1.60, and on September 24, 2026 the author replied in the comments: “Works perfectly on 1.61”. The latest file update is from June 29, 2026. No DLC needed.
It has over 146,000 subscribers on Steam Workshop. The description doesn’t say where the textures come from or whether it also changes sidewalks or road shoulders.
