What this mod does
Ownable Car Transporter is a mod by junseo2709 that adds three vehicle carriers to the trailer dealer, which you can buy and use with your own truck. It was released on October 21, 2026, and passed 1,300 subscribers within a few days.
What’s included
- A 2-axle car carrier, a 3-axle truck carrier and a 3-axle van carrier.
- They haul the game’s own vehicle cargo: cars, SUVs, pickups, caravans, vans and tractor units, including DAF trucks, with their correct names.
- You can paint them in the factory color, a solid color or a metallic of your choice.
How to get it
It unlocks at level 10 and requires the valuable cargo skill. After buying it, sleep once and look for vehicle transport jobs on the freight market.
Compatibility
The author built it for the public 1.61 version and it uses the modern cargo system, which he says makes it less dependent on each game version. It’s optional in Convoy, but it doesn’t work on TruckersMP because it uses its own trailer definitions. With the optional “Kia Stinger GT – Car Transporter Cargo” mod, that cargo appears on the freight market. Sell the trailer before disabling the mod.

Requirements

How to install it
- Open the mod's page on Steam Workshop and click “Subscribe”.
- Launch ETS2, go to the Mod Manager and enable “Ownable Car Transporter”.
- Load your profile (the author recommends trying it on a test profile first).
- Go to a trailer dealer (at level 10 or higher) and buy the vehicle carrier.
- Sleep once in your save.
- Look for vehicle transport jobs on the freight market.

What do I need to buy it?

Does it work on TruckersMP?
No, because it uses its own trailer definitions. In Convoy it's optional.
What happens if I remove the mod?
Sell the trailer first: that's how saves with owned trailers work.
