What this mod does
DBM Vegetation overhauls the trees, bushes and grass of Euro Truck Simulator 2 1.61 and 1.62. It’s another piece of Claude Shannon’s DBM series and covers the base game and the map DLCs, whose vegetation ProMods also uses.
What it improves
- Converts 5,333 vegetation models to 3D geometry.
- Swaps the bark of many species for CC0 photo scans from Poly Haven and ambientCG, while keeping the hand-painted look of birch, aspen and plane trees.
- Upscales leaves and grass clumps 2 to 4 times with Real-ESRGAN, up to 8K.
- Adds normal maps to leaves across 1,466 materials.
- 30% more grass, visible out to 125 m (the base game stops at 105 m).
Load order and compatibility
Load it above your maps; the order relative to other DBM mods doesn’t matter. It replaces other tree and grass texture mods, and it conflicts with mods that change def/world/detail_vegetation.sii. It works with or without ProMods, and other maps keep their own vegetation.
Performance and version
It costs some FPS and VRAM: the author recommends 8 GB or more and vegetation maxed out in the settings. Version 1.7 fixes crashes in Italy and with gas station mods. If you switch between profiles with and without ProMods, restart the game.

How to install it
- Open the "DBM Vegetation - Real textures, sharper leaves, denser grass 1.61-1.62" page on Steam Workshop and click "Subscribe".
- Launch Euro Truck Simulator 2 and wait for Steam to download the nearly 5 GB.
- In the Mod Manager, enable the mod and place it above ProMods and any other maps.
- Disable other tree or grass texture mods.
- In the graphics options, set vegetation detail to maximum.

Common problems
Does it work with ProMods?
Yes, with or without ProMods. If you switch between profiles with and without ProMods, restart the game to avoid crashes.
Does the order with other DBM mods matter?
No; it just needs to sit above your maps.
What should I do if the game crashes while loading?
The author recommends raising Windows virtual memory to 32 GB or, at the very least, to the size of your RAM.
