What this mod does
Horn of Africa is a map by the UniMaps team that takes ETS2 to the Horn of Africa. It builds on ProMods Middle-East and turns driving into an adventure: dirt tracks, tough routes and stretches of hundreds of kilometers without a single gas station.
What it adds
- Somalia: Mogadishu, Balcad, Beledweyne, Baardheere, Jilib, Afmadow, Gaalkacyo and other towns.
- Kenya: Liboi, Hagadera, Garissa, Bangali and Nguni.
- Ethiopia: Ferfer and Mustahil.
Who it’s for
For anyone who already plays with ProMods Middle-East and wants long, demanding routes where you have to keep an eye on your fuel. It’s not a map for driving fast: it’s for planning.
Requirements and load order
It needs ProMods Europe and ProMods Middle-East. The order the author gives, from top to bottom: Middle-East def/map, Middle-East asset package, ProMods Europe packages and, below them, the Horn of Africa files (def/map and models 1 and 2).
Version
1.1.6 (June 30, 2026) updates the map for ETS2 1.60. To use it, you need the ProMods versions that match 1.60. If you’ve already moved to 1.61, wait for the team’s next update.

Requirements

- ProMods Europe and ProMods Middle-East for 1.60, with the map DLC ProMods requires
How to install it
- Install the ETS2 1.60 versions of ProMods Europe and ProMods Middle-East from promods.net.
- Download Horn of Africa 1.1.6 from TruckyMods or with Trucky Mods Manager.
- Copy the .scs files into Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/mod.
- In the Mod Manager, put the ProMods Middle-East files at the top, then ProMods Europe, and Horn of Africa (def/map and models) below.
- Load your profile and drive toward Somalia from the ProMods Middle-East area.

Common problems
Does it work without ProMods?
No. It needs ProMods Europe and the ProMods Middle-East add-on.
Does it work on 1.61?
1.1.6 is tagged for 1.60. Wait for the update if you're already on 1.61.
Why do I keep running out of diesel?
It's intentional: there are stretches of hundreds of kilometers without gas stations. Fill up before you set off.
