What this mod does
Realistic Weather System is a weather mod by Lionv8 focused on rain. Instead of it raining the same way all over Europe, it adjusts the chance of rain and storms by area, based on real climate data for the summer months (June to August, 2000 to 2026) from sources such as ECMWF and NOAA.
What it changes in the game
- Ten types of rain and storms: from light rain and showers to heavy storms.
- More drops on the windshield, with new textures, size and physics.
- New textures for rain and for the spray from cars.
- More realistic haze and less of the rain-streak effect.
- Slipperier roads in the rain and adjusted wind speed.

For anyone who wants more variety in the rain and wants the weather to depend on where you’re driving. The author recommends setting the game’s rain probability to 24 %.
Compatibility
The official description lists compatibility with ETS2 1.61. It isn’t compatible with graphics, weather or rain mods, or with seasonal dirt mods, so use it on its own. If you want a full graphics and weather package, there are alternatives like Realistic Brutal Graphics and Weather, but don’t combine them.

How to install it
- Disable any graphics, weather or rain mods you have.
- Go to the mod's Steam Workshop page and click Subscribe.

- Load your save and drive through several regions to see the different types of rain.
