What this mod does
It’s one of the most popular graphics mods for ETS2, with more than 1.4 million subscribers on Steam. It’s made by Frkn64, the author of Realistic Truck Physics, and it focuses on one thing only: making vehicle lights look more believable.
What it changes
- New high-resolution flares for headlights, taillights and turn signals.
- Longer, better-balanced light visibility distances, so at night you spot oncoming traffic sooner.
- Improved light reflections that add more depth to the scene.
- It applies to your truck, to traffic and to other objects in the game.
It doesn’t touch driving or physics: it’s a purely visual change and it’s very small.
Compatibility
Version 7.7 supports ETS2 1.60 and 1.61. According to the author’s website, the latest change was precisely adding support for 1.61. It works in Convoy, the official multiplayer mode. You can’t use it together with the same author’s Non-Flared Vehicle Lights Mod: whichever has higher priority in the Mod Manager wins.
Who it’s for
For anyone who drives a lot at night or in the rain and feels the stock lights look flat or fade out too soon. It pairs well with weather and graphics mods.

Requirements
- Euro Truck Simulator 2 version 1.60 or 1.61
How to install it
- Subscribe on Steam Workshop (you can also download it from the author's website, which links to Modsy).
- If you download it manually, copy the .scs file to Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/mod.
- Open the Mod Manager and enable Realistic Vehicle Lights Mod.
- If you use the Non-Flared Vehicle Lights Mod, disable it: they can't be used together.
- Load your save and check it out at night.

Does it work in multiplayer?
Yes, the author states it's compatible with Convoy.
Can I use it with Non-Flared Vehicle Lights Mod?
No. Whichever has higher priority in the Mod Manager would win, so use only one.
Does it affect performance?
It's a very light mod (around 1 MB) that only changes light effects.
