What this mod does
DBM Water is the latest piece of Claude Shannon’s DBM series: it overhauls the water in Euro Truck Simulator 2 1.61 and 1.62 without touching the map or the models.
What it improves
- 15 wave normal maps generated from an ocean wave spectrum, at four times the original resolution.
- 73 replaced water textures and 28 remade foam textures.
- 30 textures and normal maps for shores, riverbanks, rocks, dams and dirty water.
- Distinct natural colors for lakes, rivers, sea, fjords and murky water.
Where the textures come from
The author uses CC0 textures from ambientCG and Poly Haven and states there’s no AI upscaling: everything was generated with physical models or from CC0 photo scans.
Compatibility
It works with the base game, every map DLC and ProMods, including its lakes, streams and dark sand beaches. Load it above DBM Terrain Textures and above your maps. Use only one water mod at a time. It’s flagged as optional in Convoy.
Performance
It weighs about 200 MB, with textures up to 2048 px, and the author doesn’t notice any FPS loss. This is version 1.0, released on October 18, 2026.

How to install it
- Open the "DBM Water - realistic waves, foam & shores 1.61-1.62" page on Steam Workshop and click "Subscribe".
- Launch Euro Truck Simulator 2 and wait for Steam to download the mod.
- In the Mod Manager, enable DBM Water.
- Place it above DBM Terrain Textures, if you use it, and above ProMods and any other maps.
- Disable any other water mod.
