What this mod does
Yet Another Rain Mod (YARM) is a 2026 rain mod that has gained a lot of popularity in a short time. Instead of changing the weather, it focuses on how rain looks from the cab.
What it changes
- A hand-remade raindrop texture: smaller, denser drops at higher resolution.
- Falling rain streaks that are more frequent but less distracting.
- Almost all drops move dynamically and, when the rain stops, they take about 15 in-game minutes to dry.
- The author hand-redrew all 78 window masks and edited more than 50 glass configurations so rain properly covers the windows of every truck.
Compatibility
It only replaces three textures, the glass configurations and the side window masks. It doesn’t touch the weather system, sounds or any other files, which is why the author considers it compatible with other mods. In the Mod Manager it should sit above other rain mods and graphics, weather and lighting mods.
Versions
It works on ETS2 1.58, 1.59, 1.60 and 1.61. On 1.57 and earlier it doesn’t work or causes problems. The September 5, 2026 update added 1.61 compatibility. One detail is still pending: on the windshields of the Volvo FH4, FH5 and FH6 it isn’t fully applied, although the side windows are.

How to install it
- Subscribe to the mod on Steam Workshop.
- Open the ETS2 Mod Manager and enable it.
- Move it above other rain mods and any graphics, weather or lighting mods.
- Confirm the changes and load your save.
- Try it out in the rain: the intensity still depends on the game or your weather mod.

Common problems
Does it change how often it rains?
No. It only changes the drops and the glass; rain depends on the game or your weather mod.
Is it compatible with other rain or weather mods?
The author says yes, as long as YARM sits above them in the load order.
Why doesn't my Volvo FH's windshield look the same?
The author says the FH4, FH5 and FH6 windshields still aren't fully covered; the side windows are.
