What this mod does
Driving at night in ETS2 has one unrealistic detail: you can barely make out the lines on the road. Reflective Road Markings, by knox_xss (who also made Renault Magnum Updates), makes road markings reflective, like real road paint, so they shine when your headlights hit them.
What it changes
- The lines and markings painted on the asphalt reflect your headlights.
- Since version 3, the text painted on the road in Italy and the Balkans is reflective too, and version 4 added materials that were missing in the Balkans.
- It’s only 198 KB and doesn’t touch the weather or the overall lighting.
Versions
6.2 is the current version. The author lists it for ETS2 1.49–1.59 and ATS 1.49–1.60, and posts it in the same thread for both games. The first post doesn’t mention 1.60 or 1.61 for ETS2, so test it on a separate profile first.
If something doesn’t shine
knox_xss asks that, if you find markings that don’t reflect, you post a screenshot with the GPS in the thread so he can locate them. The mod has been filled in this way, area by area, with help from testers Vel_07 and wik412. There are no notes on ProMods or load order.

How to install it
- Open knox_xss's thread on the SCS forum and download reflective_road_markings_v6.2.zip (ShareMods link).
- Unzip the .zip and copy the .scs file to Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/mod.
- Activate it in the Mod Manager.
- Drive at night to check the effect; if you find markings that don't reflect, share a screenshot with the GPS in the thread.

The author only lists ETS2 1.49–1.59. He doesn't confirm 1.60 or 1.61; test it on a separate profile.
