What this mod does
Early Autumn is the early autumn season by Grimes, the author of Frosty Winter and New Summer. His thread on the SCS forum has been open since 2015, and version 9.1, from September 24, 2026, already works on ETS2 1.61.
What it changes
- Early autumn weather, colors and lighting, with seasonal daylight hours and temperatures.
- Trees with fewer leaves and fallen leaves on the sidewalks.
- Denser grass visible from farther away, smoother level-of-detail transitions and low-resolution trees replaced with high-resolution models.
- Improved rain on the road and windshield, reflections on wet asphalt and sidewalks, and roads that take longer to dry.
What’s new in 9.1
Besides updating it for 1.61, Grimes has improved the good weather and reworked the bad weather.
Compatibility
It works with ProMods, many other maps and all map DLCs. You need to disable any other weather or graphics mods, such as Realistic Brutal Graphics and Weather, and it can’t be combined with another Grimes season. In the comments on his website, some players report bugs with the RusMap and Central Russia combination. If you’re still playing an older version, the page keeps 9.0 (1.60), 8.9 (1.59) and 8.8 (1.58).

Requirements
- Euro Truck Simulator 2 1.61 (older versions for 1.58, 1.59 and 1.60 are on the same page)
- Around 1 GB of free space
- No other weather or graphics mod active, and no other Grimes season
How to install it
- Open the Early Autumn page on Grimes' website.
- Choose the free download (ShareMods) or the ad-free $1 one.
- Copy early_autumn_ets2_v9_1.scs to Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/mod.
- In the Mod Manager, place it at the very top and disable any other weather or graphics mods.
- In Graphics, set vegetation detail and grass density to High and enable normal maps; if they were disabled, restart the game.

Does it work with ProMods?
Yes. The author lists it as compatible with ProMods, many other maps and all map DLCs.
Can I activate several Grimes seasons at once?
No. Each one replaces the weather and graphics; only activate one.
What is the Seasons Pack?
A separate paid pack ($2.99) with Spring, Summer, Early Autumn, Late Autumn and Winter for 1.61. There, too, you activate only one season at a time.
I'm still on 1.59, will it work?
