What this mod does
Frosty Winter Weather Mod is ETS2’s longest-running winter mod: Grimes has maintained it since 2017 and its thread on the SCS forum has passed a million views. Version 10.8 is already updated for ETS2 1.61.
What it changes in the game
- Rain turns into snow, and the wheels kick up wintry spray.
- Vegetation, terrain and asphalt get a winter look, with high-resolution trees and textures.
- Snowy roofs, bundled-up pedestrians, and light, daylight hours and temperatures to match the season.
- Works with ProMods, RusMap, Southern Region and all map DLC.
Optional add-ons
They load above the main mod: Frosty Wheels (frost on the wheels), Physics (slightly more slippery roads), Longer Daylight Hours (more hours of light) and Clear Roads, which gets a new version in 10.8 and keeps the asphalt clear of snow.
Free or ad-free
The free download goes through ShareMods. For 1 dollar, Grimes offers an ad-free direct download with all the add-ons. Separately, he sells a Seasons Pack with the other seasons.
Who it’s for
For anyone who wants to drive in the snow all year round. It replaces the game’s lighting and weather, so don’t mix it with Realistic Brutal Graphics and Weather or other weather mods. If you have ATS, there’s also a version for American Truck Simulator.

Requirements
- Euro Truck Simulator 2 1.61 (older versions for 1.57–1.60 are on the same page)

How to install it
- Open the Frosty Winter page for ETS2 on Grimes's website.
- Choose the free download (ShareMods) or the paid ad-free one, which includes the add-ons.
- Copy the Frosty .scs and any add-ons you want into Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/mod.
- In the Mod Manager, put Frosty at the very top.
- Place the add-ons (Frosty Wheels, Physics, Clear Roads…) above Frosty.
- Grimes recommends vegetation and grass density on High and normal maps enabled.

Common problems
Does it work with ProMods?
Yes. Grimes states compatibility with ProMods, RusMap, Southern Region and all map DLC.
Can I use it with other weather mods?
No. The author warns that other weather, graphics or lighting mods alter the snow and light and can cause conflicts or crashes.
Why is there snow in tunnels?
It's a limitation the author himself acknowledges: some of the game's shared assets can't be excluded.
Do I have to pay?
No. The dollar only removes the ads from the download and bundles the add-ons in a single file.
