What this mod does
tree_improved_4k is a mod by dirceu junior that replaces the vegetation in Euro Truck Simulator 2 with new trees and plants using 4K textures. It’s by the same author as Asphalt Improved and Weather 3.9, and has over 400,000 subscribers.
Version
Version 3.1 adds new vegetation, and the author lists it for game versions 1.60 and 1.61. An earlier version (3.5) was announced for 1.56. The latest update is from September 7, 2026.
Compatibility
- Not compatible with Fael Environment or with Grimes’s seasons (Seasons).
- According to the author, it works in any load order.
- On the SCS forum there’s an optional full version with normal maps.
What players say
Some recent comments mention pixelated textures and odd shadows on 1.61, trees that pop in and out at around 200 meters, and some ask for a better LOD. If you notice something like that, try disabling other graphics or vegetation mods.
Before installing it
It takes up about 7.5 GB, so you need free disk space, and it may demand more from your graphics card than the stock vegetation.
