What this mod does

Bright Headlights, by ĐỰ₭Ḝ, makes the headlights on every SCS truck brighter, like in older versions of the game. It’s a tiny mod, about 378 KB, and has over 134,000 subscribers. There’s a separate version for American Truck Simulator.

Compatible modded trucks

Besides the stock trucks, the author includes support for many modded trucks and buses:

  • Kenworth K100E, by Overfloater, and Ford F-MAX, by Emre Aydın.
  • Mercedes-Benz SK, DAF 95 ATI, Sisu M, DAF F241 and DAF NTT, by XBS.
  • RJL’s Scania R, T and G.
  • Kamaz-5490 NEO/65206, by SimKA, and MAZ 54323, by Stas556.
  • Solaris Urbino III, Iveco Evadys, Bolloré Bluebus and Karosa 95x, by Etrusan.
  • Volvo FH 2012, by Pendragon, and Iveco Turbostar, by Ralf84.

Version

The description mentions compatibility from 1.40 onward. The latest Workshop update is from May 17, 2023. On February 21, 2026, the author replied in the comments: «Tested on 1.58. Mod works.»

One user says it doesn’t work on the new Volvos. The author hasn’t confirmed this.

How to install it

  1. Open the "Bright Headlights" page on Steam Workshop and click "Subscribe".
  2. Wait for Steam to finish downloading.
  3. Launch ETS2, open the Mod Manager and enable the mod.
  4. Load your save and switch on the low and high beams to check the change.

Common problems

Does it work with modded trucks?

With the ones the author lists, including RJL's Scanias, the Kenworth K100E and the Ford F-MAX.

Is there an ATS version?

Yes, the author publishes it separately.

Does it work on the new Volvos?

One user says it doesn't; the author hasn't confirmed it.
